Recommended Search Engines for Deep Web/Tor Network

Finding a good search Engine for many of the Tor (onion domains) sites is like trying to find a single fish in the ocean (or so it seems.) The mysterious and many times disorganized underground world that this eBook describes operates in secrecy and they do not want to make it easier for new surfers especially, to find their way around inside. We have searched around and found a few good ones, but believe us when we say this search is not easy, much like any other task on the Deep Web.

The Tor Library
Of course we have mentioned the Tor Library, which we have posted the screenshot of before. We like this site because it is user friendly and because users do not have to constantly concern themselves with worry about whether a site will be dangerous and that they will be going someplace that they had no intention of going. The possibility of “accidentally” clicking on some outrageous forbidden site is severely diminished by using a safe Tor Search site like The Tor Library.
This is a site we found when browsing and it has many interesting links on it. While it could not necessarily be called or classified as a Search Engine for Tor, it has so many interesting links we decided to post it anyways. When we first visited the site, it was working perfectly. All links were functioning. The next day we returned, and as is the case with many sites in the Tor Network, it was not functioning links wise. Strange thing is, that this site is not even hosted with Tor with a .onion domain. It links to .onion domains, some very interesting ones. But the site itself is hosted with an ICANN .org domain on the surface web. Yet it still appears and disappears, the links work and then fail to work just like sites on Tor with .onion domains. Is the some secret govt agency taking revenge on the owner of this site? Perhaps.

Deep Search (Tor Search Engine)
Located at http://xycpusearchon2mc.onion this search engine for Tor sites is not the biggest nor is it the best but it is difficult to compile good lists of Tor Search Engines. You kind of have to go with what you find and hope that the sites are functional, and helpful, and will not lead you down the wrong path.

Duck Duck Go
Located at http://3g2upl4pq6kufc4m.onion when on the hidden web, this search engine also curiously has a surface net location at this address Their surface web search engine located at their .com address seems to be gaining a lot of good reputation, comments and feedback from users. It is somewhat odd nowadays for a company to have both a surface net search engine and a search engine hosted on a .onion domain. However this could be the wave of the future and some companies such as Google somedays may routinely have search engines which work for the surface web, and the Deep Web. The incompatibility of the two networks seems to make this possibility a remote one, however things that were considered amazing are usually considered outdated 10 yrs later.

Onion Search/directory combination
Located here this site seems to be located on the surface web. However it has a fairly substantial list of the actual Urls on onion domains, and its search engine really only searches the sites in its library. Nevertheless it is somewhat helpful and also has a fair to medium list of onion sites listed in the site listings.
